Churchill and Blakedown Millennium Green Trust

                    ANNUAL REPORT OF CHAIRMAN (2003/4)

The Millennium Green has continued to mature and flourish during the year. Apart from the major responsibility of regular grass cutting by a contractor, most of the work by Trustees and local volunteers has related to pruning the hedges and lopping branches from overhanging trees. Again the Spring flowers of daffodils, crocuses and small clumps of snowdrops were much admired by everyone.

The Green was used once more for the annual Village Fete. We introduced a new money raising venture by holding a series of Car Boot Sales during the summer months. Some were more successful than others but we plan to hold more next year. We were grateful to receive further funding from the Parish Council and a donation from the Fete Committee. A copy of the accounts, which have been independently examined, is attached to this report.

Once more I should like to place on record my thanks to my fellow Trustees - Chris Lindley, Geoff Elwell (Treasurer), Jonathan Clark and John Rostron for all their hard work and support during the year.

We hope to have another successful year.
