If running 10km is definitely not for you, there's
another way to get involved in Churchill & Blakedown's forthcoming sporting
event. We're looking for volunteers to help marshal the course.
The role is important, but straightforward. Each
marshal stands at a given fixed point, and directs the runners, giving as much
encouragement to them as possible! You would need to be in attendance from
roughly 6pm until 8.30pm at the very latest.
When you're finished, please join us at the bar and
BBQ, being held at the Sports Pavilion in Blakedown. This is incidentally where
the race starts and finishes.
You don't need to be particularly fit, or able-bodied. Some points on the
course are very easy to get to, some are harder to reach. We will be happy to
take your wishes and needs into account when it comes to deciding where to send
you.
We need about 30 people to marshal our 10km run,
and would really appreciate it if you are able to help.
The event is aimed at raising money for the
redevelopment of Churchill & Blakedown's Sports Pavilion. Volunteering as a
marshal would be an important contribution to your villages.
