Present: Diane Welbourn (Chair) Ian Challis (Treasurer) Steve Anstey Russell Welbourn Freda Griffith (Secretary) Mark Swindells Pete Dearden Nigel Maguire James Brown

Apologies: Jan Dearden Amy Chatwin Judy Stokes Steve Hughes Malcolm Hall

1.      DW Welcomes those present and accepts apologies

2.      Discussion concerning the new playground equipment.  Jim Brown explained the position of the refurbishment, money in place a preferred supplier etc.  discussion opened here to make sure play ground is in best position for its use and for the development of the site as a whole for the future. Financial implications if it is moved but committee felt it best discussed and if money is spent now making sure it is in a better position it is for the greater good of the development of the site for the new pavilion, once that comes.                                    ACTION Mark Swindells to redesign the car park and play area to incorporate the best use for both, a) idea to use play park as a barrier to the field this restricting vehicles joy riding b) to put play area in the corner of the car park making it safer for children to and from school not having to cross car park to use equipment.  c) move it closer to the boundary thus allowing extra room for cars, maybe changing its shape although still allowing same total area.  Or other ideas from Mark as he works on the plans!

3.      Minutes from the last meeting read through and matters arising discussed, Weed and Feed done, insurance increase? Due to tennis revamp?  Replacement costs.  New for old here should not really alter cost of insurance because old courts damaged would cost the same new for old to replace as these new ones will.                                                                                                  ACTION look into insurance costs and advise about new courts Diane Welbourn Official letter head from Mark Swindells to be sent to Diane.  Dog foul letter still to be done. Freda Griffith

4.      TREASURY REPORT.        Fundraising account £5281.12                                                                       Sports Account           £2125.29           Outstanding invoice for keys, Apply for mowing fees, suggested increase from £800 to £1000                                                                                                       ACTION Ian Challis to provide breakdown of costs to back up this application if increase is necessary

5.      CRICKET needs a new representative.  Russell Welbourn has spoken to Richard Hadley of Belbroughton who is willing to fund their man to come over and help prepare the wicket.  Stave Anstey had phoned the man about times equipment etc, but had received no call back.  So no arrangement there for the time being.  Will this mean they waive their pitch preparation fee? Petrol used in damage to equipment in the garages which were left open.  All key holders responsible if on site as they leave that places are locked up.            ACTION Cricket Club to sort out how they are going to carry out maintenance, a rota doesn’t seem to work, even less so in inclement weather.

6.      FOOTBALL Training at the moment only on a Tuesday night.  Nigel explains that he moves them round the sides to lessen the wear in any one area.  Request made to avoid the area directly in front of the pavilion at the moment as it is getting muddy.  Far goal mouth to be seeded.  Nigel’s enquiries to fill the empty slots a leaving team has vacated are not forthcoming.  Ian has got the line marker                                                            ACTION  Ian to get a bag of seed for goal mouth and seed ASAP in this wet weather.  Fill space on schedule with a team, some have applied.
